Creation: Land & Seas, Plants & Trees...

jeremy

Genesis 1:9-13
9 And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

Jeremiah 5:22
Should you not fear me?" declares the LORD.
"Should you not tremble in my presence?
I made the sand a boundary for the sea,
an everlasting barrier it cannot cross.
The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail;
they may roar, but they cannot cross it.

Psalm 104:14-15
You cause grass to grow for the cattle.
You cause plants to grow for people to use. You allow them to produce food from the earth--
wine to make them glad, olive oil as lotion for their skin, and bread to give them strength.

In other words....
Fear: To fear God doesn't mean to be afraid of Him or fear some type of unknown punishment or terror.

To fear God means to respect Him, to honor Him, to be amazed by His greatness, and to admire all He has done for you and this world. When you have nothing to say but "WOW" when describing God, you're on your way to fearing Him. An attitude of fear and AWE is pleasing to God and is the first step toward gaining wisdom.

When you close this book, take a minute to say "WOW" to all God has done for you.

Creation

Playground

Genesis 1:6-8
And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

Psalm 19:1-3
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.

Psalm 57:9-11
I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.

Jeremiah 10:12-13
But God made the earth by his power;
he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.
When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth.
He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

Just a thought...
If God is powerful enough to create this huge playground we call Earth, don't you think He's mighty enough to have created you exactly as He intended?

Let there be light

Light

Genesis 1:3-5
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

2 Samuel 22:29
You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light.

John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Revelation 22:3-5
No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

The Bible uses the term "light" on many occasions. In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus used the illustration of light to challenge and remind Christians that their lives are open books. Jesus said, "You are the light of the world... Don't hide your light... Let it shine for all to see... so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father"

Praying Hard...

Being a light to the world is a high calling!
It's pretty wild to realize that you may be the only Christian your friends will ever meet. Are you shining brightly? If not, what are a few things you could do to become a stronger light for God?

In the beginning...

Earth (Clouds)

Please read Genesis 1:1-2, John 1:1-5 and Psalm 148:1-6

These few verses sure cause big debates in science class. Unfortunately, there are no quick or easy answers in the creation and evolution controversy. Believers in evolution claim our world suddenly exploded into existence billions of years ago-pits of slime somehow sprouted legs and started growing chest hair. It's a good story for those who don't believe in God or the Bible. The Bible informs us that God created the earth, and through him all things were made-including us.

Actually, it takes less faith to believe God created this world and us than it does to believe our complex minds and bodies evolved from a "big bang" and a drop of ooze.

God created each of us in His image. try thining about that the next twenty-one times you look in the mirror. Our uniqueness is no accident!

Hangout with God... HowG....

1 min bible

Few months ago, we had a talk show in fellowship.. do you still remember I posted a question? "What does the Bible mean to you?" Some of you gave me your very honest opinion about the Bible. I am thankful for that... Honesty is more impt than acting you are ok... When you are honest, then you ask, when you ask, you are given an explaination, then you understand, then you will grow in Christ.. This is how we grow in Christ.. keep seeking the Word of God ... Understand it.. Apply it into our lives...

In order for you all to grow in Christ thru God's word, I have just created a blog for you to spend time with God. I know most of us are very busy in school work and to a fact that work has affected your relationship with God.. this is becoz u spend more time in work n fun than God's word..
For those who have quiet time everyday.. keep up the good work!
For those who have not, start from here...
It will not take you more than 1 min to read and 2 mins to ponder... Of coz, I hope everyone will read this .. The message is taken from this book... interesting things we young people always doubt about..
