Let there be light

Light

Genesis 1:3-5
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

2 Samuel 22:29
You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light.

John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Revelation 22:3-5
No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

The Bible uses the term "light" on many occasions. In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus used the illustration of light to challenge and remind Christians that their lives are open books. Jesus said, "You are the light of the world... Don't hide your light... Let it shine for all to see... so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father"

Praying Hard...

Being a light to the world is a high calling!
It's pretty wild to realize that you may be the only Christian your friends will ever meet. Are you shining brightly? If not, what are a few things you could do to become a stronger light for God?
